Tesla Powerwall 3

The solar inverter. Already integrated.

Powerwall 3 has a solar inverter built into the unit, so your panels connect straight to the battery. That removes a separate inverter from the install — fewer components on the wall, less conversion loss, and a tidier system.

It can be added to an existing solar setup or installed as part of a brand new system. With three MPPTs it accepts up to 20 kW of solar input, and runs at 97.5% solar-to-home efficiency.

Warranty years do not guarantee lifespan; capacity, cycle and throughput conditions vary. Final output, compatibility and availability are confirmed in your quote.

01 / INTEGRATED DESIGN

Powerwall 3 includes the solar inverter. Sungrow SBR and SolarEdge batteries need a separate compatible inverter; Enphase includes battery microinverters. AlphaESS M5 also has an integrated hybrid inverter.

02 / POWER FROM ONE UNIT

Designed for larger loads

Up to 11.04 kW configured AC output and 185 A motor-start capability support demanding backup designs. Larger Sungrow systems or multiple Enphase units can match or exceed a single Powerwall’s output.

03 / TESLA CONTROLS

Your energy, in the Tesla app

Monitor energy flow, set Backup Reserve and use supported modes such as Storm Watch. Compatible Tesla vehicles can use Charge on Solar. Availability depends on your equipment, region and software.

Why Powerwall 3

Built in, built tough, built to back you up

Built-in solar inverter

An integrated inverter converts solar into stored electricity without a second box on the wall, accepting up to 20 kW of solar across three MPPTs.

Reliability & longevity

Rated IP55 for indoor or outdoor mounting, operating from −20°C to 50°C, and backed by a 10-year Tesla warranty.

Backup designed around your home

Up to 11.04 kW of continuous backup and 185 A motor start, for a backup design that can support larger loads, subject to appliance demand and system configuration.

Backup Power

What happens in a blackout?

With the right backup equipment installed, Powerwall 3 detects an outage and automatically supplies the circuits selected for backup. It delivers up to 11.04 kW of continuous power with 185 locked rotor amps for motor start.

What keeps running depends on your system design, your appliance loads and how much energy is stored — so we work out the essential circuits with you before quoting rather than assuming one Powerwall covers every phase and every appliance.

It can also charge ahead of severe weather, topping up to maximum storage capacity before a predicted event. Pair it with a Tesla Wall Connector and you can charge your EV from your own roof rather than the grid.

Questions For Us

Your Powerwall 3 questions answered.

Why should I install a Tesla Powerwall 3 in my home?

Powerwall 3 lets you use the solar you generate during the day after the sun goes down, instead of exporting it cheaply and buying it back at peak rates. Because the solar inverter is built in, it also simplifies the install — one unit on the wall rather than two.

What is the energy storage capacity of the Tesla Powerwall 3?

A single Powerwall 3 stores 13.5 kWh of usable energy. You can install up to 4 Powerwall 3 units together, plus up to 3 Expansion units, for a maximum of 7 units on one system.

Can the Tesla Powerwall 3 power my home during a blackout?

Yes, with the appropriate backup equipment installed. It switches over automatically when it detects an outage and supplies the circuits selected for backup, delivering up to 11.04 kW of continuous power with 185 locked rotor amps for starting motors. What stays running depends on your system design and stored energy, so we agree the essential circuits with you before quoting.

Where can we mount a Tesla Powerwall 3 home battery?

Powerwall 3 is rated IP55 and operates from −20°C to 50°C, so it can be wall-mounted indoors or outdoors. Our electricians will confirm the best location on site, factoring in shade, access and the distance to your switchboard.

How long is the warranty on the Tesla Powerwall 3?

Tesla provides a 10-year warranty on the Powerwall 3. All Green installs it as a Tesla Certified Premium Installer, using our own electricians rather than subcontractors.

Can I add a Powerwall 3 to my existing solar system?

Yes. Powerwall 3 can be added to an existing solar setup or installed as part of a new system. We check your current inverter and switchboard first and tell you straight whether a retrofit or a full replacement makes more sense.

How much does a Tesla Powerwall 3 cost to install?

The installed cost depends on your switchboard, the mounting location and how much electrical work is needed, so we quote it per property. The federal battery discount is applied to your quote, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.

The All Green Team, led by Bryce, just installed our solar panels and Tesla battery in North Sydney. Could not be happier with the outcome. First rate service, communication and workmanship. We were kept in the loop throughout and the job was all done in just over half a day, which is amazing. Highly recommend these guys. Thanks again.

We had our Evnex X22 first installed by All Green and then a year later had a solar & battery combo installed by them due to their great service. Scott Ford runs a great business where the guys are reliable and customer focused and competitive on price. Definitely recommend All Green for all your electrical and solar/battery needs. Not to forget Rick Mackie (Sales) and Chloe in the office as well as the installation guys that make up a great team!

The team at Allgreen have been very helpful and professional. They managed to bring forward my installation by 3 weeks and everything was completed within the day. Shout out to Bryce and his team as well as the wonderful ladies handling all the enquiries through the phone and email . Would highly recommend Allgreen to anyone thinking of installing solar/battery. Thank you for a wonderful job done.

I cannot fault our experience with All Green. They were the best of our three quotes and were easy to deal with from start to finish. Knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy, and with a smooth and well explained installation. Panels, Battery and Inverter. We are in north west Sydney so do not be put off by the fact they are based out of Gosford. We couldn’t be happier with the All Green team and highly recommend them.

Two years ago they installed solar and a water heat pump. The bill savings have been significant, so just last month we had them install a Sungrow battery system. Since then we have barely touched the grid from what I have noticed. For both installs, a team of young men of good character and work ethic did the job. Highly recommend.

From Gary being 1 of only 2 reps who actually visited the site, to clear quoting and answering queries, I would recommend AGES, and have done. They turned up on time with 5 guys and finished a large instal by 3.30pm. And kept to the quoted price to the dollar. Job well done!

All Green completed a Solar, battery and heatpump installation recently. The team were excellent, Bryce in particular. They turned up on time, discussed the installation, made some minor modfications in line with my requests and completed the work with minimal fuss and max professionalism. Bryce stepped me thru the battery monitoring app clearly following the initial setup. I recommend this company.

Chose All Green after three quotes from retailers referred by a respected solar resource site. All Green were not the cheapest, however their quote better reflected my objectives. They also discussed and made clear some of the key decisions that were needed. Installation was scheduled 3mths later due to current demand. The actual date moved with one week’s notice, however this was early January so understandable. Installation was estimated for three days but completed in one day by a competent team. System has worked flawlessly since installation. All Green were responsive at all times.
